Art with a toddler is always a bit of a mess. So when an opportunity comes to try a less messy art supply, I am definitely on board. So when another opportunity from The Pencil Grip, Inc. to review a package of their Thin Stix Creativity Pack came my way, I signed up quickly.
Earlier this year we had the opportunity to review The Pencil Grip’s Thin Stix Classic Color Set. The Thin Stix Creativity Pack took their product to a whole new level. The Thin Stix Creativity Pack has 24 Solid Tempera Paint Sticks which includes 12 classic colors, 6 neon colors and 6 metallic colors. The tempera paint is contained within each plastic stick, looks like true paint, is much less messy, and dries in 90 seconds!
How We Used the Thin Stix Creativity Pack
Sugar Plum has been loving art in every sense and asks to do something daily. The Thin Stix Creativity Pack has been the most requested art supply lately. It’s great because she can paint while I am teaching the other kiddos and I am not worried about the mess that may be made in that time.
The Thin Stix Creativity Pack has gotten a lot of use in our home lately. While I thought Sugar Plum would be the only one really loving the paint sticks, but it turns out they are a hit for the whole family!
I placed them in a container on Sugar Plum’s art desk so that they would be easily accessed. Little did I realize the big kids would be sitting near her desk to work with the Thin Stix as well.
I love that the Thin Stix Creativity Pack has such bright and bold colors. The color pop is impressive and most people have no idea they are not done with liquid tempera paint.
Sugar Plum has an obsession with orange right now, so she was very particular about the colors she chose to begin with, but was quick to add some pizazz to her artwork as well.
She was quite proud when she was finished and has spent many days since working with her paint.
The Thin Stix Creativity Pack is a great addition to any art area!
One of the best things is the fact that there is hardly any mess. In fact I am pretty sure the mess is much less than with washable markers, especially on hands. What mess there is can be easily cleaned with a quick wipe of a rag.
I love that I can let the paint be available at any time and not be concerned when someone wants to paint randomly.
While I still think there is definitely a need for regular paint as it is a completely different process, these fill in for those times that a mess is not necessary, and even Sugar Plum can grab the Thin Stix Creativity Pack and start painting whenever she feels the desire.
