Book with a An Award Winning Classic – To Kill A Mockingbird
All I can say is, “How did I go this long in my life without reading this classic!” To Kill a Mockingbird was nothing short of wonderful!
I know this was on most people’s high school reading list, so I am very surprised I somehow missed this book until I was 34 years old.
I’ve always heard people talking about how it is a great book, but had never taken the time to read the book myself. Until now!
What a great book I was missing! The hype was definitely not too much, it lived up to every review I had ever heard. I was hooked from the beginning and had a hard time putting it down.
If you haven’t read this classic, you MUST add it to your to-read list.
There is not much to say, that hasn’t already been said, so instead I am going to leave you with a few of the things that really stuck out as I read.
Here are some of my Commonplace journal quotes:
“…but before I can live with other folks, I’ve got to live with myself. The one thing that doesn’t abide by majority rule is a person’s conscience.”
“I wanted you to know what real courage is, instead of getting te idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It’s when you know you’re being licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win but sometimes you do.”
