Bringing Life to the Bible with a Book – Imagine. . .The Great Flood by Matt Koceich Review

As a Charlotte Mason homeschooler, I have seen first hand the way a book can take my children to another world. There is nothing like getting lost in a book and if it has a connection to history or the bible that makes it even sweeter. Barbour Publishing has taken the bible and created a new series that takes your children on an adventure.

Imagine...The Great Flood Review - Modern Momma Musings

We had the pleasure of reading Imagine. . .The Great Flood by Matt Koceich. Imagine… The Great Flood is the first book in the Imagine series, the second, Imagine… The Ten Plagues, is on pre-order now, so you can get the first read and have the second sent to your door at release!

About the Imagine…The Great Flood:

IMAGINE... The Great Flood
*******************************************************************************

The story of Noah and the Flood from the bible is a classic story that my kids have always been drawn to. It’s one of the first they remember from their bible readings and one that seems to stick with them for many years to come. So imagine letting your kids take a trip on the ark with Noah and experiencing the Flood. This is exactly what Imagine. . .The Great Flood by Matt Koceich does for your kids.

Our Impression:

While I wouldn’t call this classic literature, it was a very interesting read. Mister Man read the book quickly and enjoyed the adventure. He was talking about Noah’s Ark and Corey’s adventure for a few days.

It reminded me a lot of The Magic Tree House and I Survived series, interesting, good books for bringing history to life in a way that the kids enjoy, but not the highest quality writing. Both of these series were Mister Man’s favorites for reading and re-reading. So I could see the Imagine series doing the same things for him.

I liked that the book was based on the biblical story of Noah’s Ark and I think it is great book for elementary age kids who are trying to make sense of what really happened in the bible. They can relate to the story more when they are taken on an adventure and so the story becomes a bit deeper for them.

Mister Man enjoyed Imagine. . .The Great Flood by Matt Koceich and is looking forward to the next book in the series. I have a feeling Sunshine will enjoy it to, if he ever lets her take it from the book stash in his room.
