We’ve been taking learning a step further with lapbooks lately. It’s been a good way for my older two kiddos (8 and 7) to learn to do research and find the facts. While lapbooking is not a normal thing for our Charlotte Mason environment, I don’t mind adding in a bit of research when they are having fun doing it as well. We had the opportunity to use the The Greatest Inventors lapbook from A Journey Through Learning Lapbooks and it was a great chance to dig a little deeper into those great inventors from history.
Latin was a subject I would have never thought to teach my children, but then again I never thought I would be homeschooling my children in the first place. Funny how life throws some amazing curve balls. Once I began thinking about homeschooling and doing research, I quickly saw how Latin takes a part in our everyday lives. We’ve done two years of Latin now, finished a program, and were ready to move onto a more advanced Latin program, this year. For this reason, I was excited to have a chance to review Latina Christiana Complete Set from Memoria Press.
Catholic Charlotte Mason Homeschool – Year 2 – Term 3
We’ve finished our Year 2 of Ambleside Online. As with the previous years we added a Catholic twist. Here’s our recap of term 3.
Over the past month, I have spent a lot of time planning for Lent for the kiddos and myself. Here are a few of the resources we will be using this year.
As a Catholic family, it’s important to us that we have good resources for our children that highlight our faith. There are many Catholic books out there, but these are a few of our favorites right now.
We homeschooled over the summer so we are almost finished with our Charlotte Mason Year 2 Term 1, but I thought I would share with you what we have used for this term. We use Ambleside Online with a Catholic twist. I have added and subtracted a few things to make them more fitting to our faith and have really loved the way it has been working for our family. Here’s a peek into our curriculum.
