Times Alive Review - Modern Momma Musings

Times Alive is comprised of a lesson for each fact, with each of the lessons being broken down into multiple parts. Each lesson contains a video, a song and activities. Some lessons also include a quiz or two, as well. Making a nice variation to each set of lessons.

The video is a catchy animated film that is intended to help your kids remember their multiplication facts. The number characters act out the scene for each fact in a way that keeps them entertained. My kids thought they were cute and a fun way to remember the facts.

After you’ve watched the video you can watch and listen to the song portion of the lesson. The song is a music video which restates the fact they’ve learned with a catchy tune. This was a fun addition that my kids enjoyed as well.

The next step in the lesson is an activity or game. Each lesson ends with an activity which includes an interactive element. This was my kids favorite part. They liked the interactivity of the lesson and I felt that it was a good way for them to get a bit more practice with their lessons.

As a mom, I liked having the progress report laid out for each lesson as well. It was easy to see what they had completed and how much they had understood. The progress report showed me if they had completed the whole lesson or only part of it, when they did the lesson, as well as how much time it took them. When there was an activity or quiz, the score was also available. This was a great back-end extra for our family.

Overall, I think this was a good supplement for the kids. The videos and songs were catchy which was fun for my kids. The interactivity was a plus for me. I didn’t feel like I was sitting my child in front of only a video. The progress report was a nice addition, as well.

I would recommend Times Alive from Times Tables the Fun Way for anyone who thinks a bit of extra practice with their multiplication facts or if you just want to change things up a bit. Times Alive is a great way to supplement your math program with catchy and fun videos, songs and activities. And with a monthly subscription, you can use it as long as you need.
