The beginning of Lent is just around the corner. I feel like Ash Wednesday is sneaking up on us quickly this year. With a short time to plan for Lent this year, I am very grateful I began thinking about it early. Here are our plans for this year’s Lenten season.
After taking a month and a half off over the crazy holiday season, I am feeling refreshed and ready for the new year. Life was getting a bit overwhelming so a break let me spend my extra time with the ones that need me most, my kiddos.
Art with a toddler is always a bit of a mess. So when an opportunity comes to try a less messy art supply, I am definitely on board. So when another opportunity from The Pencil Grip, Inc. to review a package of their Thin Stix Creativity Pack came my way, I signed up quickly.
As we are entering the tween years, it is becoming very clear to me that there are so many issues that need to be discussed as they begin to question, understand and yearn for answers. Some of them are easier than others, but they are there and we need to lead the way.
Some prayers you’ve known all your life, others you learn and love when you least expect them.
One of my favorite prayers from childhood and up to this day is the Prayer of St. Francis:
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.
